Community Speedwatch is an initiative allowing local people to calm traffic in their communities. Sussex Police train volunteers to use speed calming equipment which is then loaned out to be used at safe, risk assessed locations within their community.
Petworth resident Surrey Weeks has kindly volunteered to organise a Community Speedwatch team in the parish. Surrey would like to hear from anyone who would be willing to support this new initiative by volunteering some of their time. In order to get the scheme up and running, a minimum of 3 more volunteers are required. All volunteers will be provided with training by Sussex Police’s Community Speedwatch co-ordinator.
If you would like to volunteer and make a difference in your town, please contact Surrey on Surreyw@hotmail.com.
