As detailed last month, at their March 2021 meeting, your Town Council resolved to bid for the purchase of the Old NatWest Bank in the Market Square.

This decision was based upon the Council’s priority to develop a community hub for the town; a facility whereby a range of services and opportunities can be made available to support residents in many different ways and a priority which was identified through the Neighbourhood Planning process.

We have received notification that the Council’s bid was unsuccessful hence the Council’s purchase of the Old Bank will not proceed at this time.

We have included a detailed update on the community hub project in the summer edition of Petworth Pages.  The article includes an opportunity for the 8,600 households to whom the magazine is delivered to provide their feedback.  Please do read the article, which will reach your letterboxes during the week commencing 24th May, and help us shape the future of this project.
